Area residents among 76 arraigned by district attorney
Thirteen area residents were among 76 who were arraigned before District Attonrey James P. Goodman Monday at the Schuylkill County courthouse on criminal charges filed against them. All entered pleas of not guilty and requested jury trial
Robert Arthur Bachert, 59, of 113 Bull Run St., Coaldale, was charged by Patrolman Charles Blesse, Coaldale Police, with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol last July 18. He also was charged with failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic.Anthony Joseph Maley, 27, of 330 Spruce St., Tamaqua, was charged by Patrolman Matthew Bynon, Tamaqua police, with DUI, careless driving, operating a vehicle without an official inspection certificate and two stop sign violations last Aug. 7.Regina Sefing, 42, of 243 E. Grant St., McAdoo, was charged by Patrolman Brian Thompson, Rush Township police, with DUI and careless driving last July 6.David G. Betz, of 213 N. Ave., Jim Thorpe, was charged by Patrolman Thompson, Rush Township police, criminal conspiracy-retail theft of a television set valued at $447 from Walmart Store and receiving stolen property.Brian R. Kehl, 26, of 117 Catawissa St., Tuscarora, Schuylkill Township, was charged by Patrolman Charles Blesse, Coaldale police, with DUI, possession of a controlled substance (CS), possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while his license was suspended and failure to properly use his multi-beam road lighting equipment.Jason L. Tischler, 24, of 315 Greenwood St., Tamaqua, was charged by Patrolman Jonathan McHugh, Rush Township police, with DUI and failing to drive on right side of roadway last July 17.Jeffrey B. Myers, 36, of 231 Valley St., New Philadelphia, was charged by Patrolman James Englert, Pottsville Police, with being involved in an accident with the car of Susan Haney, is a habitual offender of the state motor vehicle code, driving while his license was suspended and failing to obey traffic signal last Sept. 23.Joseph Robert Shaffer, 29, of 192 Hillside Lane, New Ringgold, was charged by Patrolman William Bradley, Orwigsburg police, with giving a false report to authority that his truck was stolen. Shaffer was also charged by Trooper David Beam with being involved in an accident with a car driven by Aaron Spell, Cressona, at the intersection of state routes 183 and 901 in Cressona last Aug. 11, meeting a vehicle proceeding in opposite direction, failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic, careless driving and failed to report being involved in an accidentDonna Lynn Hartranft, 35, jof 75 Valley St., New Philadelphia, was charged by Patrolman Charles Webber, Pottsville police, with possession of drug paraphernalia last July .Kenneth Michael Neifert, 23, of 32 Valley St., New Philadelphia, was charged by Patrolman Brian L.
