Specialty sandwiches are special at Quiznos

Local patrons in search of an alternative type of sandwich may have just hit pay dirt.

Quiznos, which specializes in toasted sandwiches, held its grand opening at 577 Delaware Avenue in Palmerton on Wednesday.Based on the amount of customers who entered the shop and exited with food in tow, it's easy to understand why employees brimmed from ear to ear."It went great; we had a very busy morning," said Cassie Borrell, manager. "We had a lot of people bringing in their coupons."Borrell said the new double cheesesteak, dip-up steak and chicken, signature subs, classic subs, everday value deli subs, toasty torpedoes and toasty bullets, sammies (sandwiches), a two for $5 promotion, chop salads, soups, kids meals, and cookies offers customers plenty of variety to pick and choose from."Every steak we make is made up of prime rib," she said. "The two for $5 has been knocking us dead."Borrell said patrons who try the food will have their tastebuds satisfied like never before."They can expect a sub like they've never had before," she said. "Our sandwiches are unique chef-made recipes."The shop has nine employees, though Borrell said it's in search of more. Anyone interested may come fill out a job application, she said.Quiznos is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
