Weatherly choir dedicates concert by Christian pianist

The choir and musicians at Zions Lutheran Church 335 Third St. Weatherly are dedicating the concert by Jim Hendricks in memory of their fellow chorister and friend, Sue Weston, who passed away last week.

The concert by internationally acclaimed Christian pianist and recording artist, Jim Hendricks at Zions Lutheran Church on Saturday, Nov. 7, will also benefit several ministries of the church and its community outreach.Proceeds from the concert program, which will be dedicated in memory Sue will benefit the music ministries at Zions. The Zions Busy Bees, the church's ladies group that serves the community through their various projects will benefit from the after concert dinner, catered by the White Haven Bakery. The many other ministries of the church will benefit from the ticket proceeds.Jim Hendricks' arrangements of traditional Gospel and contemporary Christian Music are characterized by unmatched technical ability and passion. Because of the fun, humor, energy and variety of Jim's performances, people of all ages with diverse tastes in music are sure to enjoy this program. Jim Hendricks has performed in churches throughout the country, including the Crystal Cathedral. He has also been a featured symphony orchestra soloist of Rachmaninoff's piano music. He has performed with such greats as the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Dave Brubeck, Della Reese, Jack Jones, Clark Terry, Louie Bellson and, many others. He is Professor of Piano at Chicago University.
