Joseph Modrick, Lansford, one of the founders of the Lansford AmVets Post, was presented the National AmVets Distinguished Service Award. The award, which is given only to war veterans, was present to Modrick for his services to the AmVets. Carbon County District Attorney George Kerestes, a past commander of the post, made the presentation. The guest speaker was Donald Spagnola of Washington D.C., director of the national AmVets and past national commander.
