A Nesquehoning woman opted to waive a hearing on various charges regarding an incident on July 19 when she allegedly drove her vehicle into the front of the CVS Pharmacy in Nesquehoning after striking another vehicle in the store parking lot.
Kimberly Sue Schnell, 27, of East Catawissa Street, has been charged with two counts of driving while under the influence of alcohol, recklessly endangering another person, and careless driving.A hearing on the charges was scheduled before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek in Lansford.Officer Ronald Peck of the Nesquehoning Police Department says in the criminal complaint that Schnell had a BAC of .021.Peck wrote in the affidavit that Schnell told him she wanted to put the vehicle in reverse, but put it in drive instead and hit the car, panicked, and then went into the building."The police officer says in the affidavit that he could smell an odor of alcohol, and noticed that Schnell's eyes were red and glassy.Schnell also told him she had two beers and two shots of whisky, the affidavit states.Peck said there was nobody inside the vehicle that Schnell struck and nobody was injured when the car struck the building.
