Tamaqua Mayor Christian Morrison joined Tamaqua Area High School German teacher Mary Ruth Taylor in welcoming a group of 20 students and three adults from the Otto Hahn Academic High School in Landau, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, during the TAHS Homecoming tailgate party at the school's sports stadium on Thursday, Oct. 8. The German exchange students, in grades 10-11, and their chaperones arrived in Tamaqua on Oct. 6 and are staying with host families. In addition to attending classes at Tamaqua High, the German students will take field trips to New York City, Amish Country and Jim Thorpe during their stay, which runs through Oct. 17.
