Deer cause of Carbon accident

A deer entering a Carbon County roadway was the cause of damages to a vehicle.

State police at Fern Ridge said Michael J. Volpone, 37, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on SR903 in Penn Forest Township, about 11:13 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, when a deer entered the roadway. Volpone attempted to avoid the animal but could not, police said, and struck it. Volpone and his passenger, Vanessa C. Volpone, 31, of Jim Thorpe, were both not injured.Troopers said the car had to be towed from the scene.
