Three persons were injured Saturday in a two-vehicle crash along SR93 in Packer Township, Carbon County. State police at Hazleton said Thomas Osgood, 32, of Nesquehoning, was operating a 1993 Jeep CJ-7 northbound at noon and attempted to turn left into a dirt lane for the entrance to the state game lands when he apparently pulled into the path of a southbound Chrysler P T Cruiser driven by Elsie Beckett, 78, of Lehighton. Beckett and Osgood were transported by ambulance to the Blue Mountain Health Systems Gnaden Huetten Campus, Lehighton, for treatment of injuries. A passenger with Beckett, Georgette Becket, 52, of Jim Thorpe, was flown by PennStar helicopter to St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, and is listed in fair condition. State police report Osgood was not wearing a seat belt while the Beckett's were both wearing seat belts. Assisting troopers at the scene were the Nesquehoning and Beaver Meadows police. Responding to the scene were Nesquehoning and Weatherly ambulances, Lehighton paramedics and the Nesquehoning Fire Dept. Nesquehoning fire police maintained traffic control at the scene.
