Tamaqua Area School District, in its second appearance this month before the Schuylkill County Assessment Appeals Board, got an additional increase in assessments on 28 properties located within the boundaries of the school district.

The decisions increased the assessment by $1,128,070, plus increases of $864,710 on 33 properties previously obtained totals an addition of $1,992,780 to the districts assessment for 2010 taxes.The appeals board is holding hearings at the courthouse in Pottsville.
