State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on several crashes investigated by troopers along Schuylkill County roadways in recent days, including one involving a pedestrian and another a motorcycle.

Troopers said the accident involving the pedestrian occurred about 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, in the area of 43 Oak Grove Road in Pine Grove Township.Troopers said Norma G. Brown, 72, of Pine Grove, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Venture westbound while three juveniles were walking along the berm of the road. Troopers said Brown was having a difficult time seeing due to sun glare and her car drifted towards the fog line. The right passenger side mirror on the car struck a 10-year-old male from Pine Grove on the left shoulder blade area.Brown took the teen to his home and turned him over to his mother. His mother then transported the teen to the Schuylkill Medical Center East, Pottsville. to be evaluated. No one else was injured.A crash was reported at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4, along New St., in Norwegian Township. Troopers said Joann Hollywood, 51, of New Philadelphia, was southbound operating a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle when she failed to negotiate a left curve. The bike went onto the southbound shoulder hitting an embankment.Upon impact the bike fell onto the left ankle of Hollywood where it came to rest. Hollywood was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, by ambulance, troopers said, for what was termed a major leg injury.A two vehicle crash occurred about 2:27 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, along SR209 at Main St., in Porter Township. Troopers said Michael Haeseler, 20, of Landingville, was eastbound on Main St in a 2006 Toyota Scion while Sheila I. Leininger, 54, of Williamstown, was northbound on SR209 drivng a 2001 Ford Focus. Troopers said Haeseler entered the northbound lane on 209 in front of Leininger. Leininger attempted to swerve right onto Main St. to avoid Haeseler's vehicle but was unable to avoid contact and the vehicles collided. After impact the Ford continued east on Main for about 57 feet before leaving the road and striking a vacant house at 65 Main St.Haeseler and his passenger, Milaela Schrader, 18, of Landingville, and Leininger, all were not injured. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.A crash occurred about 10:20 a.m. on Sunday along SR443 at Randel St., in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Douglas A. Dean, of Schuylkill Haven, was eastbound while a 17-year-old female from Schuylkill Haven, was attempting to turn left onto 443 off of Randel St. Troopers said the teen stopped at th stop sign and after stopping failed to yield to Dean and entered the eastbound lane. Dean was unable to avoid contact and the front of his 2000 Chevrolet Blazer struck the driver's side door of the teen's 1996 Subaru Impreza.The teen sustained a minor injury while her passenger, a 13-year-old female from Schuylkill Haven, was not injured. Dean was not injured but his passenger, Carol A. Hillbish, 63, of Schuylkill Haven, was slightly injured.Troopers cited the teen for vehicle turning left.Troopers investigated a crash about 5:31 p.m. on Friday along SR125 in Tremont Township. Troopers said Jackelyn C. Bass, 17, of Tremont, was southbound when her 2001 Oldsmobile Alero began to slide and she lost control. The car crossed into the northbound lane and struck the guide rail along the berm, then a tree causing the car to slide back into the northbound where it came to rest on the center yellow line.Bass sustained head trauma and was taken to the Hershey Medical Center by LifeLion helicopter. She was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.Troopers probed a one vehicle crash about 3 a.m. on Sunday along SR183 in Cressona. Troopers said Carisa J. Stevenosky, 40, of Pitman, was driving a 1999 Ford Taurus southbound near the M&T bank when the driver became distracted while using a cell phone. The car struck a utility pole and came to rest facing west in the southbound lane.Troopers said Stevenosky fled the scene but was later located. He was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic.
