Lansford man facing charges

A Lansford man is facing several charges following a vehicle stop in Coaldale. Borough police said the incident occurred about 6:23 p.m. on Aug. 29.

According to police Officer Charles A. Blesse was working as a chase car during a sobriety checkpoint operation. At the time and date stated he observed a Ford Taurus eastbound on W. Phillips St. with air fresheners and other items on the rear view mirror. A traffic stop was made.The driver was identified as Anthony Pascoe, 23, of 201 E. Kline Ave. Pascoe admitted he had no license. It was learned he was under suspension-DUI related. Blesse smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Pascoe's facial area and the suspect admitted he had drank a beer.Pascoe submitted to field sobriety tests which he failed. He was then taken into custody for suspected DUI. Pascoe initially refused a request for a vehicle search but later admitted that there was marijuana in the glove box of the car.A test revealed that Pascoe had a .10BAC and also the results showed marijuana in his system.Pascoe has been charged with three counts of DUI, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and summary offenses of driving while under suspension, driving while operating privileges is suspended or revoked, and windshield obstruction.
