Franklin Twp bridge replacement to be discussed at Oct. 20 meeting

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Engineering District 5-0, is moving forward to replace State Route 2007, Harrity Road bridge, over the Pohopoco Creek in Franklin Township.

The structural replacement plans will be on display beginning at the regularly scheduled Oct. 20 meeting (7:30 p,m,) of the Franklin Township board of supervisors held at the township municipal building, 889 Fairyland Road.During the meeting, PennDOT design consultant Wilbur Smith Associates will present and discuss the project objectives and the impact to the surrounding area.The purpose of the plan display will be to obtain input on the proposed bridge.Residents are encouraged to attend if they have comments or questions.The bridge is widely used by motorists exiting the Pennsylvania Turnpike and heading north to Penn Forest Township. Alternate routes and safety issues will be discussed during the meeting.
