Despite the heavy penalties the arrests for drunken driving is not decreasing despite stiff fines imposed.

Of 44 persons who were qualified by District Attorney James P. Goodman for the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program recently in Schuylkill County court, 33 were charged with driving under the influence (DUI).President Judge William E. Baldwin accepted them into the program and if they successfully complete the sentence imposed they can clear their records.
