West Penn Township Police are investigating a burglary that took place this morning at the West Penn Rod and Gun Club, 1047 Clamtown Road (SR 443) in the Village of Clamtown.
West Penn Chief of Police Brian Johnson reported that the alarm call from the club came in at 4:40 a.m. this morning."When on scene, I found tire tracks in the grass leading from back of the building," said Johnson. "I checked around back and found that someone had entered in through the basement door."A smaller, SUV-type vehicle was seen leaving the scene and almost hit a vehicle that was traveling on Route 443 when the suspect vehicle pulled out from the club's driveway on to Clamtown Road, going east toward SR309.Johnson said nothing was report missing from the club.If anyone was driving in that area this morning, please call the West Penn Twp.
