Robb Taylor, a multitalented musician and children's book author, will be at the Dimmick Library Annex at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, to talk about and sign copies of his two children's books: "The Tale of the Easter Bunny" and "Mr. Mischief."
The first book tells the story of how Fuzzy Bunny became our beloved Easter Bunny, and in it lies a lesson for children to be kind to animals.
The second book is a Halloween story that teaches children about prejudice and why is it wrong.
Jim Thorpe High School PTSA and the High School Senior class are partnering up on Saturday, April 24 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. to run a community day event at the Jim Thorpe High School.
The PTSA will be hosting a Health and Safety event that will provide valuable health-related information for all ages. There will be giveaways and costume characters for the kids. Please feel free to spread the word.
The Jim Thorpe Olympian Touchdown Club will meet on Wednesday, March 17, at 6 p.m. in the commons area of the high school. Parents, friends and relatives of participants of the local football program are invited to attend the monthly meetings and help plan for the upcoming football season. There is a need of help with fundraising projects, weekly dinners, etc., all of which benefit the young men of the program.
The Shepherd House Food Pantry at Ebenezer E. C. Church will be open on Saturday, March 13 from 9 a.m. to noon. Recipients must reside within the Jim Thorpe School District. The pantry is located at 441 Center Avenue in Jim Thorpe.

St. Mark's/St. John's Episcopal Church, Race Street, has announced the following changes for the worship services. Due to the St. Patrick's Day parade on Sunday, the Sunday, 9:30 a.m. service has been changed to Saturday at 6:30 p.m. There will be a service on Sunday at 8 a.m. in the chapel.
Christ United Church of Christ will host a Jim Thorpe Community Venison Dinner at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 20 at the church. The church is located at Fourth and Center streets in Jim Thorpe. There is no charge for the dinner. Donations will be accepted.
Members of the LAOH will meet on Sunday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. in McGinley Hall. Plans for the St. Patrick's parade will be finalized at the meeting.
Community supper
St. Mark's/St. John's Episcopal Church, Race St., will hold its free community supper on Sunday, Feb. 28, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church. Being served this month will be spaghetti and meatballs.
