A home was heavily damaged by a fast moving fire Saturday morning near Orwigsburg.

The fire was reported at 6:45 a.m. at a two-story wood frame dwelling along the 100 block of Lehigh Avenue just west of N. Warren Street.

Upon arriving on scene first responders confirmed a working dwelling fire.

Reports from the scene the family escaped the flames the pets did not.

Fire companies from throughout Schuylkill County responded to the scene.
