It's not necessarily a good thing when you're well-known to local law enforcement authorities, as a Middleport man discovered last Sunday.
A Tamaqua police officer on patrol spotted Kyle Hoppes, 26, of 1 Kaska St., exiting a vehicle on Spruce Street at 12:23 a.m. Knowing Hoppes the officer checked with Schuylkill County Communications to see if there was an active warrant for his arrest. There was. It had been issued by the Carbon County Adult Probation Office. The officer stopped Hoppes and then transported him to the Carbon County Correctional Facility in Nesquehoning.
